History of the Company

Hangups Gallery is an individually owned, locally operated "mom & pop" business. After graduating with a degree in Architecture and a 5 year stint as an Air Force Pilot, Steve with his wife Carol, a school teacher, started a small wood working business called Wooden Stuff in 1974. The business featured wooden toys, signs, cabinets and furniture. All the items were designed and handcrafted in our own woodworking shop and sold our retail gift shops. Over the years the gift lines were expanded to include posters and readymade frames. Custom framing was later added and the business eventually transformed into the Award Winning gallery and custom frame shop you see today. The name was changed to Hangups Gallery in 1983 to better reflect the nature of the business.
